Intel Raptor Lake Core i5-13500H and Core i7-13700H to have the same Core count as their Alder Lake Counterpart

According to hardware leaker momo mo us, the Core i5-13500H and Core i7-13700H, two of Intel’s next Raptor Lake mobile processors, have had their specifications revealed. The CPU core counts, which aren’t increasing, were disclosed on the spec sheet. The Core i5 and Core i7 versions have 12 and 14 cores, respectively, just like their predecessors.

It differs from the desktop counterparts of Raptor Lake, where the E-core core counts significantly increased. For instance, the Core i9-13900K increased the number of E-cores from eight to sixteen, whereas the Core i9-12900K included eight P-cores and eight E-cores. Similar increases in E-core counts were seen on lower-end desktop components from Intel, such as the Core i7-13700K and Core i5-13600K.

Eight E-cores are present in each Core i7-12700H and Core i5-12500H, which is the same number as the Core i7-13700K and Core i5-13600K desktop CPUs and double that of the Alder Lake Core i7-12700K and i5-12600K. For better or worse, it appears that Intel determined that these mobile CPUs did not require additional E or P cores.

The Raptor Lake mobile parts’ thread and core counts are identical to those of its forerunners, thus we can be certain of this.

Therefore, we shouldn’t anticipate that these chips will perform significantly better in multi-threading than Alder Lake, as the Raptor Lake desktop components do. But with all the improvements Intel made on the new architecture, these parts will have faster Raptor Lake performance cores. The E-cores should also get some improvements, such as a slight increase in clock speed, similar to what we saw with Raptor Lake desktop chips.
