Instagram’s new feature allows in-app post-scheduling for business accounts

The ability to schedule posts inside Instagram has been launched for business accounts. The well-known photo-sharing website has begun rolling out the long-overdue function. Users had to post stuff at their convenience up until this point.

Users would have to use third-party scheduling software applications if they desired to upload at a particular time. It’s important to know that professional accounts are the only ones that can use the in-app scheduling function.

Instagram’s new features details

Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, made the in-app post-scheduling announcement through Twitter. He called it a “final feature” and said the Meta-owned platform has long since needed to provide it.

Other social media sites including Meta, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube have offered the option to schedule postings in the past. Users could also do it through Meta’s Creator Studio in addition to scheduling posts on Instagram using third-party applications.

As previously established, only professional users, such as creators and business accounts, have access to Instagram’s in-app post-scheduling feature. Up to 75 days in advance, users will be able to plan posts for their images, reels, and carousels.

Users must follow the customary procedures from content creation to uploading into the schedule a post. Just before publishing at the end of the flow, there is a link to “Advanced Settings” at the bottom of the screen. Next, the switch is turned on for “Schedule this article.”

Once it is toggled, users can choose the day and hour they want their new post to be live. Professional users can view scheduled posts in the “Scheduled Content” area of their profile menu, which is reachable via the hamburger menu. Additionally, users have the option of rescheduling the programming.

The Instagram in-app post-scheduling feature is a very helpful new addition. Social media makers and managers won’t have to rely on inconvenient third-party solutions for scheduling anymore. The feature is accessible on Android and will be made available on iOS soon. Whether the scheduling function will be made available to all Instagram accounts is still up in the air.

In addition to post planning, Instagram is overhauling its online layout to make the most of bigger screens. The menu and other icons, including home, search, and explore, are now on the left side of the screen under the updated design.
