Despite being over $1500 US, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card has been widely purchased since it was released just about a month ago. According to reports, this number is 100,000 and may even be a little bit more, as Chi11eddog has recently confirmed. 100,000 units for a new launch on a brand-new TSMC 4N manufacturing node is a sizable amount.
It was said that there was just a limited supply of the GeForce RTX 4090, however it appears that’s not the case. Although it’s plausible that some of NVIDIA’s production capacity has been transferred to the server chips, the idea that the stock has been completely limited is absurd. While the scalping situation was awful during the first week of launch, most of that is now in the past as there are many graphics cards accessible in retail.
The GeForce RTX 4090 has 24 GB of GDDR6X memory capacity, which is clocked at 21 Gbps rates through a 384-bit bus interface.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 has a total of 16,384 CUDA cores and 128 of the 144 SMs. This will offer bandwidth of up to 1 TB/s. The TBP is rated for 450W of power consumption, which is the same bandwidth as the current RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. A single 16-pin connector that can supply up to 600W of electricity powers the card.
