According to the sources, it states that with improvements anticipated as early as next month, Apple has reduced pricing on its refurbished 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro and M1 Max CPUs.
Refurbished M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro models were initially priced at about 10% less than the matching brand-new models from April until earlier this week, but they have since been cut to about 15% less.
Lowering Prices for Refurbished Models
The sources claimed that the entry-level 14-inch model, which typically sells for $1,999, was initially available and reconditioned for $1,799, but as of this week, the cost has decreased to $1,709. Similar to this, the 16-inch MacBook Pro’s base high-end configuration costs $3,499 when purchased brand-new and has now decreased to $2,989 after being made available as a refurbished model for $3,149.
Older MacBook Pro models that have been refurbished have decreased even further. For example, the 16-inch 2.6GHz Core i7 model from 2019 was previously offered at $1,949, a 15% discount from its original $2,299 price for a brand-new model. This week, the refurbished version of that product is being offered for $1,749. This represents a savings of over 25% off the list price.
Discounts on Apple and Other Brands
It’s important to note that Amazon and other merchants frequently offer large discounts on brand-new products, sometimes even more so than buying reconditioned from Apple.
