Last season, Benzema carried his club to success in the Champions League and La Liga by coming through when they most needed him. One of the best-paid athletes in the world, he. Benzema receives a weekly salary of about €472,000.

4. Eden Hazard of Real Madrid: €613,000 per week

When Real Madrid paid Chelsea €115 million for Eden Hazard’s services in the summer of 2019, it became their most expensive signing ever. Hazard’s time at Real Madrid has been incredibly disappointing, as he hasn’t performed up to expectations for Los Blancos.

Over the past few years, Hazard has struggled with his fitness and missed far too many games due to injury. Hazard has only scored seven goals and assisted 11 times in 71 games for Real Madrid over the course of three and a half seasons. Financially, though, the move has paid off for Hazard, who now earns almost €613,000 each week.

3. Sergio Busquets of Barcelona: €727,460 per week

One of the greatest defensive midfielders in history is Sergio Busquets. He has contributed significantly to Barcelona’s victories throughout the past ten years and beyond. At 34 years old, Busquets is still going strong, but his finest years are behind him.

The legendary Spanish player is in the last year of his deal with the Catalans and is expected to leave the organization next summer. He currently ranks among the top earners in La Liga. Busquets receives a salary from Barcelona of about €727,460 per week.

2. Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona: €735,483 per week

Frenkie de Jong was a transfer target for Barcelona during the most recent summer transfer window. The club has been dealing with a financial problem, so getting rid of De Jong—who makes an outrageous salary—would have been quite beneficial.

According to The Athletic, Barca even agreed to sell De Jong to Manchester United for €85 million. De Jong, however, was adamant about staying at Camp Nou. One of La Liga’s top center midfielders is the Dutchman.

He is a remarkably gifted football player, but under Xavi Hernandez, he has regrettably dropped down the Barca hierarchy. De Jong’s reluctance to leave the team may be related to his lucrative weekly salary of €735,483.

1. Gerard Pique of Barcelona: €1,024,000 per week

Gerard Pique has enjoyed an illustrious club career and is a dressing-room leader at Barcelona. He no longer enjoys the status of an automatic starter at the club as the 35-year-old is way past his prime now.

Pique is being heavily linked with an exit from the club as Barca remains keen to offload some of their highest-paid players. The Spanish veteran earns a whopping €1,024,000 in wages at the club every week. He is the highest-paid player in La Liga right now.
