AMD Ryzen 7000 iGPU is offering a 20% performance increase with 3 GHz using MSI BIOS

The integrated RDNA 2 GPU that comes with AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs may be easily overclocked to 3 GHz using MSI’s latest BIOS. We get to see some new features and tips for AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs on the most recent BIOS in a new video released by MSI’s in-house and renowned overclocker, TOPPC.

The thermal limit profiles were tested with PBO Enhanced Mode first. This new function, which MSI has included to its X670E and X670 motherboards, significantly lowers temperatures without significantly affecting performance.

Second, on their AM5 motherboards, MSI is also introducing AVX Control Options for AMD Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs. AVX512 support is currently enabled by default on all AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs, and there is no way to turn it off. Users can, however, disable and enable all AVX modes (AVX2 / AVX512) using the new BIOS.

The option to allow RDNA 2 iGPU overclocking is the last choice MSI is providing. Each AMD Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPU has a built-in RDNA 2 GPU with two compute units or a single WGP (128 cores).

The iGPU is typically clocked at 2200 MHz or 2.2 GHz, but users now have access to overclocking capability in the BIOS thanks to MSI’s most recent BIOS. It should be noted that since the iGPU and CPU share a voltage source, overclocking the GPU can have an impact on the performance and overclocking of the CPU.

AMD Ryzen 7000 iGPU overclocks by MSI are up to 3 GHz. The JEDEC DDR5-4800 spec allows for a 3 GHz overclock, and the RDNA 2 chip can deliver up to 20% better GPU performance in 3DMark Fire Strike. The greater memory bandwidth can result in an additional 2% speed boost of up to 22% if you are utilising DDR5-6000 memory, which is really fantastic.

Even if the RDNA 2 iGPU on the Ryzen 7000 CPUs is not at all meant for gaming, it will still be interesting to see some benchmarks in titles that showcase what the smallest RDNA 2 GPU can do.
