South African skipper Temba Bavuma elected to bowl first but it didn’t prove be the correct decision for them. India posted a total of 237 runs against them but South Africa’s batting was strong as well since the team posted 237 runs against the hosts. However, India had a spectacular partnership that decided their victory.

Suryakumar Yadav scored 61 runs in just 21 deliveries while Virat Kohli posted an unbeaten 49. Indian skipper mustered 43 runs after overcoming a potential finger injury. KL Rahul had an individual score of 57 runs in 28 balls at a 200+ strike rate. Dinesh Kartik came for a short time but scored 17 at the strike rate of 243. He smashed a four and a couple of sixes in the final over against Kagiso Rabada.

South Africa’s two top-order batters returned to the pavilion without scoring a run which boosted team India’s confidence. David Miller gave a spectacular shot by mustering an unbeaten 106 runs. He helped South Africa get to a respectable score and had a partnership of 174 runs with Quinton de Kock.

Unfortunately, their great partnership couldn’t help the team win. India’s second win this series confirmed their series victory.

The last match in this series will be held tomorrow, October 3 which will be played at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
