Vivo X Fold Plus debuts with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 80W fast charging

X Fold + boasts an 8.03-inch primary display with a 2K+ (1916 x 2160 pixels) resolution. It is an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a 6.53-inch secondary panel, which is also an AMOLED screen that comes with a Full-HD+ (1080 x 2520 pixels) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone’s display also doubles up as an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security.

The rear digicam setup is as earlier than with a 50MP major module (1/1.57” GN5 sensor, 1.0µm, f/1.75 OIS), 48MP extremely large (114°) and two telephoto modules – one 12MP digicam with a 47mm lens for portraits and one 8MP periscope digicam with 5x magnification (and as much as 60x digital zoom) and OIS.

The phone uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which (per Qualcomm’s official numbers) promises a 30% reduction in power use coupled with a 10% increase in performance. It’s paired with up 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The RAM and storage type used by Vivo is LPDDR5  and UFS 3.1.

Besides the chipset, the battery also got an upgrade. The plus model boasts 4,730mAh capacity (up from 4,600mAh). Combined with the more efficient chipset, the new foldable flagship should last nearly 2 hours longer when viewing videos. Wired charging was boosted to 80W (up form 66W), so now 70% charge is reached in 18 minutes, a full charge takes 35 minutes. The original model also shipped with an 80W charger, but it couldn’t make full use of it (it was only 2 minutes slower to 100%, though, not a huge loss). Also, wireless charging remains at 50W.

It has 5G connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and GPS support. There’s a USB Type-C port for charging and transferring data, which can also be used for wired headphones since the device lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The vivo X Fold+ is on the market for pre-order in China beginning immediately and can go on sale on the twenty ninth. The bottom 12/256GB mannequin is priced CNY 10,000 ($1,400/€1,450/₹114,000), the 12/512GB improve is CNY 11,000. For comparability, the unique X Fold (12/256GB) launched at CNY 9,000.
