Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro India launch confirmed

The launch of Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in India has been revealed by a Flipkart website. The news has also been confirmed by Google India’s Twitter. The smartphones will launch on October 6 at a ‘Made by Google’ event scheduled for 10am ET (7:30pm IST) in New York City. 

These phones are said to be equipped with the company’s Tensor G2 SoC.  Google claims that with the new SoC, the Pixel phones will bring even more helpful, personalised features to photos, videos, security and speech recognition. The phones will launch with the Google Pixel Watch. Google showed off a culmination of both new hardware at this year’s I/O event.

The phone is rumoured to come with a 90 Hz refresh rate 6.30-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. Pixel 7 is expected to be powered by an octa-core Google Tensor processor. The Google Pixel 7 supports wireless charging, as well as proprietary fast charging.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Pixel 7 is rumoured to pack a dual rear camera setup featuring an Unspecified primary camera. The rear camera setup has autofocus. It is rumoured to sport a single front camera setup for selfies, an Unspecified primary camera. The Pixel 7 is based on Android 13.

Pixel flagships have always launched in October, and it seems like that pattern will continue for another year. Company has confirmed its Pixel 7 series will officially debut on October 6 at an event in New York City, with the whole launch being streamed online. It’s set to begin at 10 AM ET.

The device is loaded with a 5,000mAh battery that has 33W fast charging support. The device also has a fingerprint sensor and 5G support. The device packs 12GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The handset lacks a microSD card support. On the software front, this latest Google smartphone runs Android 12 out of the box. For connectivity purpose, the Pixel 7 Pro 5G has features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.2, 4G VoLTE, 5G, USB OTG, NFC, and GPS with GLONASS.

The company is set to launch the new Pixel-series phones with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro next month on October 6. The Pixel 7 series was first revealed by company earlier this year during its I/O 2022 event. However, whether the Pixel 7-series phones would officially come to India remained a mystery, given that company hasn’t released a flagship Pixel phone in India recently, opting to only make the less expensive a-series phones available in the country.
