Three merchants have apparently received orders for 24GB Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics cards from Gigabyte, according to a Facebook post by Kccshop and a tweet by @momomo us. KCCshop, Computers Perth, and Perth Computer and Office Supplies are the retailers; the first is from Vietnam and the other two are from Australia. Despite the fact that these are probably just early listings with exaggerated costs, all signs point to the RTX 4090 competing for a slot among the top graphics cards very soon.
Only Australian stores provided prices, and when converted to U.S. currency, it appears that the cost of the newer cards could exceed $3,000. These ads would also violate Nvidia policy, violate any applicable embargo, and are very likely not even close to official prices.
Coincidentally, these orders have started to come in just a few days after Nvidia started promoting its “GeForce Beyond” programme. At least one new GPU and Nvidia’s future Ada Lovelace architecture will be unveiled at GTC, there’s no doubt about it. Of course, early speculative speculation is rife.
Three model names are given to us in the Facebook listing from Kccshop: N4090WF3-24GB, N4090Gaming OC-24GD, and N4090AORUS M-24GD. It is simple to determine that these are Gigabyte model numbers for purported RTX 4090 SKUs based solely on the Aorus logo.
These model numbers also validate the Nvidia RTX 4090’s 24GB of memory capacity, which has long been anticipated.
For two of the three 4090 SKUs, they offer actual prices, whereas KCCshop merely provided model names. The Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 4090 is listed for $4,550 AUS (including sales tax) in the SKUs from Perth Computers and Office Supplies, while the Aorus variant is somewhat less expensive at $3,900 AUS (including sales tax). These cards cost $3112 and $2666 when converted directly to USD, respectively. Since the Aorus brand is typically associated with Gigabyte’s flagship model, that also seems a little weird.
A single Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC is available at Computers Perth for $4270 AUS, or $2919 USD. Remember: There is no evidence that these prices are even remotely close to the official MSRP, so don’t take them too seriously. Although the RTX 4090 could cost far more than the RTX 3090 Ti, which is now available for just $1,100, we’d be extremely surprised to see Nvidia charge more than the 3090 Ti’s $1,999 launch price — unless it introduces a new Titan card.
