Yes, you heard it right, if you have been waiting for you to buy your next 2-wheeler and if that is aimed to be an EV then better buy it soon because considering the pace at which Indians are adopting EVs is just insane.

Every day according to our observation on the DIDM dashboard which shows the number of EVs registered in India, around 3000 two-wheeler EVs are getting registered every single day.

5 lakh more 2-wheeler EVs will be subsidised in India

This means thousands of Indians are availing of the FAME II subsidy by the central government where 10 lakh e-2 Wheelers will be subsidised since 2019. Now, as of today on 3rd September officially 5 lakh e-2 wheelers have been registered and subsidised by the Indian government that offers incentives up to Rs. 15,000/KWh or 40% cost of vehicles.

You may have seen a number of EVs launched by Hero Electric, Ola, TVS and others but max prices include a good amount of subsidy that’s why prices looked much more attractive. However, if that incentive ends the same Ola S1 which has an ex-showroom price of ₹99,999 will cost you ₹44,700 more.

Yes, you will lose the 40% incentive that the Indian government is offering so better keep an eye on the counter if you have been waiting for a more reliable charging network should actually go for it else burn your pockets later. Indians have become fearless and those states who have embraced EVs and flooding with EV charging stations, for them, this is a boon obviously.

Considering the fact that India is growing, private players like Tata, Ola, Adani and even Reliance are gearing up to make EV batteries, and make more charging stations, the future is indeed exciting. So, as a tech enthusiast or a geek, you should go for a reliable 2-wheeler Electric Vehicle in India because it seems within 3-4 months, this scheme will eventually expire.
