The Intel Arc Alchemist A380 graphics card, the only Arc GPU now available for desktops, has undergone extensive testing by PC Games Hardware, and the results show that it performs admirably for a newcomer. The website conducted the testing to show off how well Intel’s Arc drivers perform across a list of 50 games rather than to compare it to other graphics cards (older and modern).

Older games that use DX11, DX12, and OpenGL APIs have not yet received good support from Intel, despite the fact that the company has been working hard to optimise the performance of their Arc GPU in contemporary APIs like DX12 and Vulkan. And for a good cause. Intel has only lately entered the graphics card market, where firms like NVIDIA and AMD have long been present. Intel has put in a lot of effort to optimise and fix any errors and flaws in games that have been out for a while.

Intel is aiming to “optimise Arc GPU performance” for the APIs for DirectX 9 and 11, according to Lisa Pearce, vice president and general manager of the company’s Visual Compute Group.

Although DirectX 11 and 12 are similar, the newer API delivers additional improvements and fixes that were not present in earlier versions. For some gamers, the abundance of older games is fantastic since it gives them the chance to play award-winning games. However, because the technology is less sophisticated, consumers do not require strong graphic cards for earlier games.

The release of a new driver by Intel over a week ago that fixed several compatibility issues between their graphics card and the Control panel was not well received by the PC communities. Once more, Intel appears to be lagging behind NVIDIA and AMD in terms of their specific GPU technologies. Intel is learning what is necessary for more compatibility and optimization for the new Arc A380 with the aid of reviews from the tech community and other comments.

The Arc series drivers were split off by Intel, which results in erroneous system requirements that lead to problems like game startup errors. To guarantee that their products will function as intended, the business must also collaborate closely with video game developers. Arc A7 graphics, the premium-level graphics series that is predicted to fight with the other rival businesses, NVIDIA and AMD, is set to be released by Intel.
