IND vs ZIM 2nd ODI: India win by 5 wickets and bag the series

In the 2nd ODI between India and Zimbabwe, the former won the match by 5 wickets. India chased a target of 162 runs and finished the game with 25 overs to spare. This was a one-sided victory and the team has taken the 2-0 lead in the three-match series. KL Rahul and Co. will try their level best to whitewash Zimbabwe in the 3rd game.

India defeated Zimbabwe in the 2nd ODI as well and clinched the series. The team had 6 wickets in hand and 25 overs to spare when they completed the chase. KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill and Deepak Hooda all got dismissed but Axar Patel and Sanju Samson helped the term to gain victory. Zimbabwe hoped to give a better performance in the match but got dismissed for 11 runs in 38.1 overs. Indian players like Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, and Prasidh Krishna have done an amazing job. Zimbabwe couldn’t play even 50 overs.

Post Shardul Thakur’s twin strikers, Prasidh Krishna dismissed Wesley Madhevere. Shardul Thakur later removed Kaia and Regis Chakva in one over and Zimbabwe got into trouble in the game. The first hour of the match was dominated by India. Mohammad Siraj provided an early breakthrough as he removed Takudzwanasha Kaitano. Shardul Thakur and Siraj thrashed Zimbabwe as the team’s run rate was just two at that moment.

Initially, India won the toss and chose to bowl. Shardul Thakur replaced Deepak Chahar in the game. Zimbabwe’s openers Kaia and T Kaitano gave the opponent a good start but Mohammad Siraj dismissed Kaitano for just 7 runs.

The Indian players were high on confidence after winning their first match and winning their last two ODI series against England and West Indies. Indian star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah have been resting. In their places, Shikhar Dhawan, Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson, and Deepak Chahar have helped in the team’s win.

The Men in Blue will try their best to win their third game as well.
