Benjamin Sesko confirmed to join RB Leipzig in 2023

RB Leipzig have officially announced the arrival of Benjamin Sesko from their sister club RB Salzburg. The player will be spending the 22/23 season in the Austrian league before making the move to Germany next summer.

Clubs such as Chelsea, PSG and Manchester United were interested in signing him. But, Salzburg were always very rigid about wanting to keep him for the coming season. They have now reached an agreement to keep him within the Red Bull group, where he will play at the biggest club next year.

Benjamin Sesko’s move to RB Leipzig announced

‘RB Leipzig is one of the top clubs in Germany and is gradually establishing itself among the best teams in Europe,’ Benjamin Sesko told the club’s official website.

‘A special success story was written here in just a few years – and I would like to help shape it in the future.

‘The club’s focus on young players and playing attractive, attacking football suits me perfectly.

‘The city, the stadium and the entire infrastructure at RB Leipzig have convinced me – in addition to the many good discussions with the club officials – that the step to Leipzig is absolutely the right one.

‘But now my focus is entirely on the season in Salzburg, in which I want to develop further and be as successful as possible.’
