OnePlus has recently launched the Nord 2T smartphone as a solid mid-range option for its fans out there, well, are a bit late to review this smartphone so here we will talk about the key facts why you should buy this Nord 2T for yourself. Obviously, it is the successor to the Nord 2 and the original OnePlus Nord which have been very successful in the market.
So, naturally you expect this Nord 2T will be a good contender for the price as it succeeds a great family of smartphones, here, we will tell what makes it a good buy over others and also about some cons it has. Also, it is one of the last phones of OnePlus to sport an Alert Slider so, obviously it could be the one which you have been looking for in recent years now.

5. Display
Being into the OPPO merger, OnePlus is providing good AMOLED displays on almost any smartphone it is launching which is a good sign but here its still a 90Hz which could have been upgraded. However, the quality of the OLED panel is good and the FHD+ display is great for watching content or casual day-to-day usage as well.
I didn’t find the display top-notch for gaming but still the game mode makes it better, still for an average user this display is good enough to be used for everyday tasks. Overall, coming in at 5th, the AMOLED HDR 10+ display is a must for a smartphone in 2022.
4. Connectivity & Clean Android Experience
The latest connectivity options like Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 along with support for aptX & aptX HD & LDAC and NFC makes this Nord 2T a complete option in 2022. Overall during extensive usage, I didn’t find any problems at all connecting multiple bluetooth devices or while over calls.
Even for those who do love talking to people over phone will find this Nord 2T comfortable and accurate to use as I faced no call drops even while travelling extensively. Also, do keep in mind, the OxygenOS is still a clean OS to use, better than the others in the market and overall is a good software experience. With 2 major Android updates, including Android 13 & 14 and up to 3 years of security updates, you are secured for the future.
3. Camera
Though there’s no major improvement in terms of camera hardware over the last-gen still the OnePlus Nord 2T’s camera is great to use and is consistent when used in well-lit environment. I took a lot of camera samples during my trip to Goa and felt it to be a very good performer for a mid-range device, however, could have been better with a Qualcomm ISP.
Still, the camera, be it rear or front are consistent but not close to the flagship quality, however, enough for an average user. During night too, the shots very crisp and with updates, the camera has slightly improved as OnePlus might have worked on the image processing, even the portrait shots look really great.

2. Performance & Alert Slider
The new MediaTek Dimensity 1300 is a healthy upgrade over the 1200 and gives really good performance as a mid-range device. Being paired with 8GB/12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage configurations, this OnePlus Nord 2T goes to score 699,576 points on Antutu, one of the most powerful performer.
Even on Geekbench with high performance mode turned on you get 847 points in single-core and up to 3058 points in multi-core. However, when tested on the CPU throttling app, during stress tests we see a significant dip in performance and the chip sucks a lot of battery during intensive applications.
OnePlus needs to fix this though but yes, its a strong mid-range device with latest Dimensity 1300, so in day-to-day usage I had no hiccups or issues in using it. In terms of gaming too, I enjoyed my intense BGMI sessions which saw no frame drop with game mode on but certainly it got heated up.
Also, this is one of the last devices by OnePlus to have the iconic Alert Slider which for me is a life saver many times, so if you are even a fan of it you should consider this one seriously. It is very useful when you are at work or when you quickly need to silence your phone and it is a feature that had been exclusive to OnePlus except for iPhones.
1. Battery & Charging
The best feature which sometimes gets neglected is the battery of the smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 2T has a decent 4500 mAh battery which can last all day if optimized properly. Though the powerful chipset sometimes drains a lot of battery using intensive apps like Camera or any gaming app but apart from that it is pretty efficient.
Even if you say have exhausted all your battery life, the best part now is that the Nord 2T supports super-fast 80W SuperVOOC charging that charges it totally within 20-30 minutes which is boon if you travel a lot. Obviously, there are other smartphones with fast-charging at even faster rates, but this one is a more complete package and a healthy upgrade over its predecessor.

Verdict
Now, should you buy this OnePlus Nord 2T for an effective price of ₹27,499? Well, the design of the smartphone is alightly improved, cleaner but its your own perspective that if you like the new camera design or not. For me, the design is ok, looks like a mid-range design but is certainly better the OnePlus 10R in terms of look I would say.
As I said in the key 5 points of this Nord 2T, this is a very well-balanced device I would say and anyone looking for an affordable OnePlus device in the price range of Rs.25k can go for this one comfortably. However, OnePlus does need to address those performance issues and tweak its camera further with updates, but overall, this is a good phone to use everyday.
