Fulham are close to announcing the transfer of Kevin Mbabu from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. The transfer fee agreed between the two clubs is around €5.5 million, but the final amount could be higher due to the addition of add-ons.

A sell-on clause has also been included in the player’s deal, which means that Wolfsburg are entitled to a percentage of any future fee that Fulham receive for him. The Cottagers were not willing to match his €3 million wage demand, and have reached an agreement on a new deal with him.

Kevin Mbabu to join Fulham very soon

The 27-year-old made the move to Fulham from BSC Young Boys in 2019. Since then, made 82 appearances, scoring three goals and assisting five.

Fulham were in the market for a new right-back after Neco Williams returned to Liverpool. The player had joined on a loan deal, and has now moved to Nottingham Forest permanently. Kevin Mbabu will be the first choice right-back for the club as they aim to survive in the Premier League upon yet another return.

Mbabu had a previous spell in England with Newcastle United, which isn’t recalled by many. And now, he is set for a new experience with the London club. The Cottagers have signed Andreas Pereira and Joao Palhinha this summer.

They have also agreed a deal with Shakhtar for Manor Solomon, which is yet to be made official due to administrative issues.
