Owing to Jasprit Bumrah‘s 3/35 and one wicket each from Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj, India reduced England to 84/5 on Day 2 of the current fifth Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

After taking out England’s first pair of Alex Lees and Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope, Bumrah took the initiative and placed India in total command of the match against the hosts. On Saturday, the acting captain displayed his best all-around skills.

Bumrah smashed a quickfire 31 not out from 16 before showcasing his talent with the ball. Rishabh Pant (146) and Ravindra Jadeja (104) earlier scored century as England were defeated by a score of 416 runs.

England was 16-1 after three overs when the weather forced an early lunch. Bumrah took another wicket in the second session as he got rid of Zak Crawley. Ollie Pope was then removed by the Indian skipper, leaving England reeling at 44 for 3.
