West Ham to announce Alphonse Areola as new signing soon: 5-year contract agreed

West Ham United are expected to confirm the signing of Alphonse Areola from PSG in the coming hours. The deal has been completely agreed between the two clubs and it is only a matter of time before the move is made official.

The goalkeeper spent the last season on loan at the London Stadium, and West Ham have decided to make his loan move permanent. An £11 million fee has been agreed with the French side for the goalkeeper.

Alphonse Areola to be announced as new West Ham player very soon

The Frenchman has agreed a five-year deal with the Hammers, and joins them despite interest from Newcastle United, who have ended up signing Nick Pope from Burnley instead.

Alphonse Areola came through the PSG academy, and had several loan spells throughout his career. He played temporarily for Lens, Real Madrid, SC Bastia, Fulham and Villarreal before moving to West Ham, where he will now become a permanent member of the squad.

West Ham United are also interested in signing Armando Broja from Chelsea this summer. The Hammers are looking for a new centre-forward and have identified the Albanian as a potential option. With Chelsea yet to finalise the future of the youngster, there is a chance that he could make the move across London. But, Newcastle United are also pushing to sign the forward this summer.
