FIFA Club World Cup 2022: Tournament facing major issue to set up a proper schedule

FIFA Club World Cup 2022 is strongly doubtful due to the congestion of the fixtures in global football.

FIFA Club World Cup is known as one of the underrated and lesser prestigious tournaments in the football world, despite the latest champions of each confederation’s highest-level club competition participating in this tournament along with the hosts’ best club.

So, there is a chance to arrange the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in February 2023. Even a few reported plans suggest that the tournament could be organized from late February to early March 2023. But, there will be a major issue as the round-of-16 of the UEFA Champions League 2022/23 will also run in this similar perioḍ.

As the UCL 2021/22 champions Real Madrid have already qualified for the next FIFA Club World Cup, they can face huge difficulties to get ready for the Club World Cup as they are expected to advance for the round-of-16 of the UCL 2022/23.

FIFA Club World Cup 2022: Other teams

Apart from the Spanish giants Real Madrid, the US MLS club Seattle Sounders (winners of CONCACAF Champions League 2021/22) and the Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca (winners of CAF Champions League 2021/22) have confirmed their spots for the FIFA Club World Cup 2022.

The winners of Copa Libertadores 2022, AFC Champions League 2022, and OFC Champions League 2022 are yet to be confirmed as these teams will also participate in the FIFA Club World Cup 2022. Also, the host nation hasn’t been confirmed yet along with the tournament format for the upcoming edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.

There is also a plan for the expansion of the teams for the future FIFA Club World Cup. However, a longer schedule will be required in this case, which will be a huge issue due to already present fixture congestion in the football world.
