Romelu Lukaku loan deal agreed for return to Inter Milan: €8m plus add-ons

Chelsea and Inter Milan have reached an agreement over the transfer of Romelu Lukaku on a loan deal. The Serie A club have agreed on a loan fee worth €8 million plus add-ons for the striker, and will be covering the entirety of his salary as well.

The player has agreed to take a pay cut to return to Inter, and will receive a salary worth €8 million guaranteed plus €4 million in performance related bonuses. There is no option or obligation to buy the striker permanently included in the deal either, which means he is expected to return to Chelsea at the end of his loan spell next summer.

Romelu Lukaku agrees loan deal to return to Inter

The Belgian was pushing to return to Inter Milan only three months into a £100 million transfer back to Chelsea. His lack of professionalism and mentality has been harshly criticised by the Stamford Bridge faithful, and his move from Inter has been regarded as the worst transfer in the history of football as a result.

Now that Chelsea have solved their biggest problem this transfer window, they can move on to incomings. They are looking at Ousmane Dembele and Raheem Sterling as potential options to bolster their attack, while Jonathan Clauss and Jules Kounde are the top targets in defense.
