Exclusive Interview: BGMI Pro-player Owais talks about his favourite team and others

Mohammed “Owais” Lakhani is a professional Battlegrounds Mobile India or BGMI player who currently plays for Team Enigma Forever. He is one of the most popular Indian player for the role of IGL in the BGMI gaming community and is recognised by many international teams/players.

This is our first interaction with Owais and we have asked the player few questions regarding his BGMI career and some other topics has also been covered in this interview. Below are the questions asked to Owais which he has answered accordingly.

Interview of Owais Bolte

1. What is the story behind the name ‘Owais Bolte’?

• “Owais Bolte” is something that I used to say after winning a tournament or a match. There is no particular story behind the same. I used to say it in excitement after winning and the name stuck thereafter.

2. What is your current BGMI team name, and who are your teammates?

• My current BGMI team is Enigma Forever. My teammates are MaxKash and DaljitSK. MaxKash plays the role of a filter, Daljit plays the role of sniper/supporter, and I am the IGL. 

3. Currently, what kind of game style as an individual are you focusing on? Is it aggressive or passive/strategic?

• I focus on creating a balance between aggressive and strategic gameplay. In some situations, you have to play aggressively, and in others, you play passively. Therefore, I practice both strategies. 

4. As one of the most experienced players in the Indian BGMI community, what do you think has changed in the last 2 to 3 years?

• The Indian Esports community has seen exponential growth in the last couple of years. There has been a rise in the number of teams and players. The standard of playing has increased immensely. 

5. After BGIS, we have seen several new teams have emerged that have great potential. Can you name your favourite (s) among them?

• The one team that stands out is Hyderabad Hydras. They have been performing very well consistently. I met them at the LAN event, and it was a pleasure to know them. They are great people. 

6. What are your future goals as an e-sports athlete?

• As an esports athlete, my future goals are winning major tournaments and representing India on the global stage again. 

7. What has been the best moment and the turning point for you in your gaming/e-sports career?
   • The best moment and the turning point for me in my Esports career are winning the PUBG Mobile India Series 2019. My family was proud of me; I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was my first tournament win, and I realised that Esports is a viable career option. 
8. What learnings would you like to share with any upcoming e-sport athlete/talent?

• Focus on yourself and your game. Your determination and hard work will determine your fate. Do not let obstacles demotivate you. Give your 100%, and you will achieve your goals.
