According to famed leaker Tom Henderson, Forza Motorsport 8, the next entry in the racing simulation series of games, will be released in Spring 2023.
About the Forza Motorsport 8 Launch
Forza Motorsport 8 was first revealed at the Xbox Game Showcase in July 2020, however, there was never a release date, so calling it a delay would be inaccurate. Fans, on the other hand, expected it to be played this year. After all, the previous game was launched in October 2017, and the franchise used to release new games every couple of years.
Furthermore, given that Xbox exclusives like Redfall and Starfield have already been pushed back to the first half of 2023, Microsoft’s first-party game calendar for 2022 appears to be quite barren. That is unless there are any surprises at tomorrow’s Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase.
Word from Chris Esaki
Developer Turn 10 hasn’t revealed much about Forza Motorsport 8, other than the fact that it will be a return to the franchise’s roots. They also disclosed that Forza Motorsport 8 has the most significant under-the-hood enhancements to the simulation engine to date.

As per the sources, Creative director Chris Esaki said that He’s been trying to figure out how to evaluate this for everyone here without really putting their hands on it, thus to put the physics work into reality, the changes from Forza Motorsport 7 to now are greater than the changes from Forza Motorsport 4 to 7. Coming to the game is essentially an evolutionary jump.
From the first Forza Motorsport until Forza Motorsport 7, the tire impact model had a single point of contact with the track surface and moved at 60 cycles per second (60 hertz).
About the New Idea
Chris also added that the new model has eight points of contact with the track surface and runs at 360 cycles per second, or 360 hertz, which should give you an indication of how much has changed. If we do the arithmetic, a single tire impact has a 48x fidelity jump from eight points of contact to one, 360 hertz to 60 hertz. They’ve put in a lot of effort, and it’s paid off handsomely.
Moreover, most of the criticism they received from the latest playtest was that we can feel the track surface and how the cars handle, that there’s simply a lot more information to the player, and that the feeling of the tires on the track is incredible, and that it keeps us informed.
Even if it isn’t aiming for a 2022 release, Forza Motorsport 8 is almost certain to be included in tomorrow’s showcase, which starts at 10 a.m. Pacific Time lasts about 95 minutes.
