India vs South Africa: Match Highlights
In the second T20I in Cuttack, Heinrich Klaasen’s 81 helped South Africa chase down a 149-run goal and defeat India by four wickets. The Proteas now have a 2-0 lead in the five-game T20I series. After Bhuvneshwar’s triple-strike disrupted the Proteas in the powerplay, Bavuma kept the clock ticking with 35 off 30 balls. On a slick pitch, the Indian camp was put in to bat first and suffered repeated blows, falling to 98 for five. Ishan Kishan scored 34 and Shreyas scored 40, but neither batsman was able to turn their beginnings into large scores.
Axar Patel was subsequently dismissed for ten runs, putting India on 112/6. South Africa’s bowling assault was spearheaded by Kagiso Rabada, who held India’s scoring pace under control. Keshav Maharaj, a left-arm spinner, dismissed Pant in his first over, and Hardik Pandya’s dismissal by Wayne Parnell shortly followed. In the end, Karthik launched an attack in the final two overs, putting up an undefeated 36-run partnership with Harshal Patel (12). South Africa captain Temba Bavuma had previously won the toss and choose to bowl against the hosts. Heinrich Klaasen and Reeza Hendricks replaced Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs, respectively, for the visitors. India’s starting lineup remained unaltered.
