Alexandre Lacazette completes highly awaited return to Lyon – contract until June 2025

Alexandre Lacazette has completed his return to Lyon, after leaving Arsenal. The Frenchman has signed for his former club as a free agent upon the expiry of his contract with the North London side. 

The striker has signed a three-year deal with Lyon, until June 2025. His return has been officially confirmed by the club on their social media pages as well. During his time with the Premier League side, he won the FA Cup and the Community Shield. 

Alexandre Lacazette returns to Lyon 

Here is what the Ligue 1 side said in an official statement: “Lacazette’s return to the club, having played more than 200 times for Arsenal over the course of five seasons [71 goals] has been the club’s priority for many months and he fits in perfectly with the environment and the new strategy that the institution wishes to put into place.

“His second arrival, after the return of Remy Riou and the extension to Maxence Caqueret and Anthony Lopes’ contracts shows the great ambition to breathe new life into a new dynamic around the men’s professional team.”

There was a lot of speculation surrounding Alexandre Lacazette’s future over the last few months. But he ultimately decided to return to his former club, after their president mentioned that they were pursuing him once again. Now, he has completed a return to France after a spell in England and could potentially return to the heights he reaches before.
