Gabriel Jesus is expected to leave Manchester City this summer, with Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez signed in his position. It was expected that Alvarez would be loaned out, but it has now been revealed that the Argentinian will be staying at the Etihad next season.

With his contract running out in 2023, it is likely that the Brazilian will vacate the number 9 shirt ahead of the new campaign. So far, Arsenal have been linked the strongest with his signature – as a tempting reunion with Mikel Arteta would be on the cards.

Gabriel Jesus will cost €50 million at least

The forward has been able to show signs of his quality on several occasions this season. But, he hasn’t been able to stay in Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up consistently. Since a new contract with Manchester City looks unlikely, a new destination awaits him this summer.

Real Madrid inquired about his availability, and were told that a transfer fee worth €50 million would be required to sign Gabriel Jesus. Their quota of non-European players has already been completed. As a result, it will be very difficult for them to sign the Brazilian even if they can afford it.

Fellow London clubs Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked. But a move to a direct rival seems unlikely for the striker. Arsenal are yet to make a formal proposal for their transfer target. And as a result, it will be a while before his future is finalised.
