Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be signing a 2-year contract with Inter after rejecting Roma’s final offer

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has communicated his desire to leave to Roma, and will be joining Inter Milan. The deal is set to be completed soon, according to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

The inaugural Europa Conference League winners offered the Armenian a €4.2 million per season contract – the same that Inter Milan are offering him. They put pressure on the player by giving him a 24-hour deadline to make his final decision.

However, Champions League football is seemingly the difference maker for the player, with the Nerazzurri playing in the top flight of Europe next year. Roma, on the other hand, will be playing in the Europa League.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan to join Inter Milan in the coming days

The 33-year-old will be signing a two-year contract with Inter Milan until 2024. The deal has been formally negotiated between all parties involved, and the medical assessment remains pending. Once the player has passed his medical, the official announcement will be made confirming his signing.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined the Giallorossi in 2019 from Arsenal on a loan deal, which was eventually made permanent. He has been able to revive his career in the Italian capital, and helped Roma to their first-ever UEFA trophy this season. He made 44 appearances for the club this past year, scoring five goals and providing nine assists.

Inter Milan recently lost Ivan Perisic on a free transfer to Tottenham. And the arrival of Mkhitaryan could provide them cover in the wide positions in the coming season.
