- In 1985, France beat Uruguay 2-0 at the Parc des Princes in Paris
- In 1993, Argentina beat Denmark 5-4 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in Mar del Plata
The honours are even between Europe and South America, both winning once. Tonight Italy will face Argentina for the first time since 2018 when they lost the friendly match 2-0.
