Jio and Vivo conduct 5G trials using the company’s Vivo X80 series smartphones

Vivo announced on Monday that it had performed 5G testing in a test environment with Reliance Jio on its X80 series smartphones. Vivo said in a statement that the testing demonstrated lag-free 4K video streaming on the X80 devices, as well as super-fast data upload and download speeds.

“We are all set to have users experience the full range of 5G-capable devices and build an end-to-end 5G ecosystem in partnership with Jio. We enjoy a long-term association with Jio and are delighted to have collaborated with them for 5G,” said Paigham Danish, Director of Business Strategy, Vivo India

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer released the Vivo X80 series this month in collaboration with German lensmaker Zeiss for camera optics, with a starting price of Rs 54,999.

The Vivo 2x has a starting price of 1,699 yuan (Rs 19,804). The smartphone will be available in two colours: Mirror Black and Fog Blue and will go on sale on May 31. The business has not yet provided any information on the smartphone’s global release.

The Vivo X80 costs Rs 54,999 for an 8GB RAM+128GB storage model and Rs 59,999 for a 12GB RAM+1256GB storage model. Vivo also unveiled the TWS 2 ANC and TWS 2e, both of which are priced at Rs 5,999 and Rs 3,299, respectively. All of these devices went on sale on May 25 and can be found on Flipkart, Vivo India’s e-store, and at all partner retail locations.
