Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he will be staying at Liverpool next season. The winger has been the subject of intense transfer speculation among football fans – mainly since his contract expires at the end of the 22/23 season.

If Liverpool don’t renew his contract by the end of the coming season, he will be able to walk out as a free agent. But, the player has relieved fans ahead of the Champions League final by confirming that he will not be leaving during the summer transfer window.

“In my mind, I don’t focus on the contract. I don’t want to be selfish at all. I said two months ago it’s about the team. It’s an important week for us,” Mohamed Salah said in a press conference.

“I’m just focused on the team and winning the Champions League again. I want to see Hendo [Jordan Henderson] with the trophy in the hands and hopefully he gives it to me. I don’t want to talk about the contract now, I’m staying next season for sure, that’s clear.”

The Egyptian shared the Golden Boot award with Son Heung-min this season in the Premier League. He scored 23 goals in the competition, and also finished as the highest assist provider in the division with 13 to his name.

While Salah has made his future clear, Sadio Mane has said that he will be waiting until after the Champions League final to announce his decision.
