Formula 1: Verstappen is at the top of Spanish GP as Red Bull secured a one-two finish

Max Verstappen from Red Bull is back at the top in Formula 1 after winning this Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix in Montmelo. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was leading Verstappen with a 19 point lead but due to the engine failure in the 27th lap made him lose the game.

Max Verstappen overcame a sequence of problems to lead his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez home and won this year’s sizzling Spanish Grand Prix. This victory in a crushing Red Bull one-two was the 24th of his career and third in succession this season. Verstappen was blown off at the start of the circuit and had technical problems, but he overcame them to produce a fiery drive aided by his team-mate’s generosity for his second win at the Circuit de Catalunya and he claimed his first victory in 2016 being a teenager.

Carlos Sainz sealed fourth place in the second Ferrari ahead of seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton slowed the closing laps due to overheating problems, allowing home favourite Sainz to re-pass him to the delight of his home crowd. Esteban Ocon was seventh for Alpine, ahead of Lando Norris of McLaren, two-time champion Fernando Alonso in the second Alpine and Yuki Tsunoda in his Alpha Tauri.

Checking out the reaction of Perez who finished at the second position is essential since he’s not happy coming second. He stated that he’ll speak later with the people in the Red Bull garage after the race ends.
