AC Milan win their first Scudetto in 11 years with 3-0 win against Sassuolo

AC Milan have ended their five-and-a-half year wait for a trophy by winning the 21/22 Serie A title. The Rossoneri only needed a point in their final league game against Sassuolo, but they were able to stroll to a 3-0 win to claim the league title on the final matchday of the season.

Olivier Giroud scored a double for the team, while Franck Kessie also got himself on the scoresheet in his last game for the club. Milan were up 3-0 at half time, and were able to hold on to the lead until the final whistle as they lifted their first Scudetto in eleven years

AC Milan win 21/22 Serie A with 3-0 win

The Mapei Stadium felt like a home crowd for the designated away team, as a sea of red shirts cheered on for the Rossoneri. They were able to deliver in their final game, and maintain their unbeaten run until the end of the season to successfully win the title with a strong finish.

Their rivals, Inter Milan, were able to win 3-0 against Sampdoria at the San Siro. But due to AC Milan’s win, that was ultimately not enough for them to defend their title. They will have to be content with their Coppa Italia title this season.

We will be having a Milan derby for the Supercopa Italiana next season, as the new champions of Italy and the Coppa Italia winners take on each other in a one-off game.
