Mumbai City FC have confirmed the signing of ATK Mohun Bagan striker David Williams on a one-year deal. The Australian was in fine form for the Mariners in their recent AFC Cup qualification matches, and is now a part of the Sky Blue side in the ISL.

The striker enjoyed a much more involved role in the Mariners’ team this past season, and scored eight goals in 20 appearances across the league and the qualifiers. His arrival will be a big boost to the Islanders, who are coming on the back of a disappointing season, where they missed out on the top four after winning the domestic double last season.

Preparations for the new season have already started for the ISL teams. And by the looks of things, Mumbai City FC are making their intentions for the coming edition very clear.

They only recently signed Greg Stewart from Jamshedpur FC, who was named the best player of the 21/22 season. The Scottish attacking midfielder provided 10 goals and 10 assists throughout the campaign, and helped guide the Men of Steel to their first ever ISL title.

With David Williams and Greg Stewart both joining the Islanders, the quality of attack that can be expected has risen by quite a margin. With contract extensions for players like Ahmed Jahouh and Mourtada Fall as well, Mumbai City could be on their way back to the top of the division this year.
