EA and FIFA’s Long Partnership Comes to an End: What will be the Future of FIFA?

At last Electronics Arts and FIFA confirms that they are officially stopping sharing the bond. EA has been creating the FIFA game for three decades.  We can’t deny that the negotiations over the game publisher are the use of the FIFA brand and become wildly successful in the annual soccer franchise finished without any renewal as EA confirmed the news on Tuesday.

EA will not sit silently, as the company will rebrand its soccer games by using a new title like EA Sports FC. The new deal with FIFA had set to expire after the Qatar World Cup in November this year. EA and FIFA currently extend their deal till next year’s Women’s World Cup, after which EA cannot use FIFA’s name. EA has hundreds of licensing deals to confirm it can use players’ likeliness that brand with the majority of the global soccer industry.

End of an era: EA Sports ends partnership with FIFA | Sports News,The Indian Express

According to the report of The New York Times, last year the contract negotiations under the renewal of a few years old deals increase the tension between EA and the world soccer governing organization, mainly over the amount of money FIFA was demanded with limitations as t desired to impose on how EA could use it for branding. The new reports suggest EA had been irked that FIFA was licensing the name out to the other video games just like Fortnite and Roblox.

The executive vice president and group general manager of EA Sports Cam Weber said,” After nearly 30 years of creating genre-defining interactive football experiences, we will soon start an exciting new era. Next year, EA Sports FC will become the future of football from EA Sports. Alongside our 300+ license partners across the sport, we are ready to take global football experiences to new heights, on behalf of all football fans around the world.”

According to Weber EA, Sports FC will become the latest independent platform that will permit us to realize this future and much more.  after that, he also continues, that EA is going to commit to delivering one more FIFA game under the current arrangement later this year.

EA Sports and FIFA end partnership, both eye new video games

He said,” We are dedicated to meaningfully reinvesting in the sport, and we are excited to work with a large and increasing number of partners to expand to new authentic experiences that bring joy, inclusivity, and immersion to a global community of fans. I look forward to sharing more detail on these plans in the coming months.”

Now come to the FIFA side, for the gamers, FIFA means game more than the sports politics institution. The problem starts the last October when FIFA was double its licensing fee to $1bn. The president of EA sports has planned to extend the game just beyond the interactive marches but the licensing gives the restrictions to EA. Now, FIFA has to find a new video game company that has the capabilities to purchase the licensing.
