Sacking managers has become more common in recent years, when results are not produced. Didier Deschamps started his managerial career with Monaco and led them to their first Champions League final – although eventually coming short against Mourinho. He has managed Juventus and Marseille at the club level. And since 2012, has taken charge of the France national team, leading them to World Cup glory in 2018.

Enrique took charge of the most dominant Barcelona team following that of Pep Guardiola and was able to guide them to the Champions League. He then took over the national team and has been in charge of them ever since.

He started off with his former playing team Barcelona, before moving on to Bayern Munich. He now manages Manchester City and has achieved a stronghold over the domestic competitions, while Champions League glory continues to elude him.
