Oppo Reno8 Series will feature Qualcomm and MediaTek’s best SoCs

Oppo debuted the Reno7 Series in China earlier last year, now the company will be releasing the successor to the series, the Oppo Reno8 in the month of July. Ahead of this launch, the Oppo Reno 8 was spotted on the Geekbench listing site and it appeared to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chipset.

Courtesy of notable tipster Digital Chat Station, we now have access to all the chips that the Reno8 Series will carry. The upcoming Series will arrive with the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chip, the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chip, and the Dimensity 8100 chips respectively. The Oppo Reno 8 will feature the Qualcomm chip, while the Reno8 SE will be powered by the Dimensity 1300, and the Reno 8 Pro will pack the Dimensity 8100.

The tipster has also added that these devices feature an independent display chip.

Here’s what we know about the Oppo Reno8 Series so far, the vanilla version of the device will have a 6.55″ OLED display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz. As per the most recent renders, the back panel of the phone has a stovetop camera module design that is very similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chip will power the phone and it will be paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM along with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. We can expect Oppo to integrate a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

In the optics department, the Reno8 will have a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro or depth sensor. On the front, it will feature a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor similar to what we saw on the Reno7 Series.
