The Mariners intend to adjust their offensive line ahead of next season, as previously reported. ATK Mohun Bagan has already begun talks with Spanish attacker Alvaro Vasquez as part of the deal. According to sources close to the situation, the Green and Maroons have chosen to part company with its star striker pair.

About the Offensive Duos

Roy Krishna and David Williams arrived in the ISL in the 2019-20 season after ATK FC made a big move to get the duo from Wellington Phoenix in the A-League. The move drew a lot of attention. As a result of their outstanding performance with ATK FC, both Krishna and Williams went on to awe the league. Finally, in their first season, they were able to win the league.

The next season, the duo grew in confidence and played a key role in ATK Mohun Bagan’s first season in the ISL. They did, however, finish second in both the league shield race and the ISL. Their results in the third season slipped after two seasons of dominance. However, as the season progressed, they gained traction and appeared to be a threat.

In 60 games over three seasons in the league, Fijian Roy Krishna scored 36 goals and made 18 assists, an incredible figure. In 55 games, his striking partner David Williams, on the other hand, scored 17 goals and added eight assists.

Current situation for ATK Mohun Bagan

David Williams was first unsure at the ATK Mohun Bagan camp last season. Following the Bagan think tank’s decision to hire a new Asian. But, in the end, Bagan’s decision to recruit a fresh addition did not pan out. As a result, Williams’ contract was extended until the end of the season.

The situation appears to have changed this season. Williams has already had discussions with a couple of ISL clubs and is considering a move. Roy Krishna, on the other hand, is currently reunited with his family in Fiji following the deaths of his father and mother-in-law. He hasn’t made up his mind about his future. After ATK Mohun Bagan’s AFC Cup group stage play, more information on the matter is expected.
