Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK parliament for his ties to Vladimir Putin. Following the armed invasion of Ukraine by the Russians, the government has clamped down on the oligarch and has seized his assets, which include the West London club. So, the Premier League board has disqualified Abramovich as a director of Chelsea.
The club has been put up for sale, and will now go through after Roman Abramovich agreed to comply with the government sanctions. The bidding process is in the final stages and the sale will happen very soon.
However, this sanction on Chelsea has a very bad effect on their players in EA Sports’ famous FIFA video game. No Chelsea player has been given any special card after that event with the only exception of the Azpilicueta MOTM card.
No Chelsea players in Premier League Team Of The Season
As reported by popular FUT news revealer, FUT Sheriff, “due to everything that is happening, looks like EA won’t bring any Chelsea players.”
The nominees for the Community Team Of The Season have already been out and the voting has also started. Strangely there were no Chelsea players among the nominees.
And now, according to various reports, there will be no Chelsea players included in the Premier League Team Of The Season as well. This move by EA Sports’ won’t go well with the Chelsea fans as the players don’t have any hand on the matters going on inside the club.
