Design & Build:

The new Bullets Wireless Z2 looks exactly the same as the Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition. The band gets a rubberised finish, to prevent accidental slips, which ends with plastic chambers. The right chamber has only the OnePlus logo at the end, whereas there are the three buttons, an LED indicator, and a Type-C charging port on the left chamber. The buds are also made of plastic only and the wire is with tangle-free texture. Lastly, this wireless neckband has an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.

The premium build feels from the first touch for this new Bullets Wireless Z2. All three buttons are providing good tactile feedback. The magnets in the earbuds are very powerful and work perfectly to pause contents. The LED indicator indicates the charging status and the power status.

Overall, the design and build are worth the price of INR 1,999. The Bullets Wireless Z2 can easily be put at the top 3 wireless neckbands in this price segment.

Comfort & Usage:

The neckband is made of plastic only. So, it’s very obvious the weight is minimal and easy to carry for a long time. Due to the IP55 rating, it’s suitable for any situation, whether it could be your gym time, media consumption, or travel time. The buds sit in my ear comfortably and without any difficulty. As a result, long time listing is not a problem. For a better explanation, I have watched the first two episodes of Moon Knight back to back which is around 2 hours approximately and took calls as well around that time. Didn’t feel any uneasiness or any pain at all in between.

The buttons are made up of rubber. On the plastic chamber, it is easily detectable and able to distinguish every three buttons properly. The three buttons allow to take, cut or reject a call, play, pause or skip any track along with going reverse, and waking up your voice assistant.

To conclude this part, there is nothing to point out that can hamper your comfort while using the Bullets Wireless Z2 and the usage is also super smooth.

Audio & Microphone:

The OnePlus team added a bigger speaker driver this time, which is 12.4mm. They have worked on the tuning part very well. I have tried tracks from multiple genres, video contents, and games as well. All the properties came out in a balanced way, starting from the vocals, beats, and bass. However, this applies when the sound is at 70% or less. Beyond that, the sound scattered a lot, especially the instrumental sounds. Listening to anything at 80% volume or above is not good for hearing health. So, this shouldn’t be a problem. There is support for the AAC and SBC audio codec too.

Coming to the microphone, the neckband has the AI Noice cancellation feature. While taking the calls, even on road, I faced no difficulty and didn’t get any complaints from the other side also. The AI Noice cancelling works decently considering the price point. So, I’m okay and happy with this performance.

Connectivity:

Bluetooth 5.0 is in place to take care of the connectivity part for the Bullets Wireless Z2. Along with it, OnePluse added its own Fast Pair technology too. It works seamlessly all the time. Pairing Z2 with Moto Edge 20 Fusion for the first time was also a smooth process. Post that, the neckband connects with the smartphone almost instantly when detects the Bluetooth is active. The Magnetic Control with the buds also works well, disconnects the pairing and turns the Z2 off when I put the buds connected. When detaching them, it tasks a couple of seconds only to pair back with the smartphone. However, the absence of the autoplay feature may disappoint you sometimes. For example, while consuming any media for some reason you need to pause it for a while. So, putting the buds together will work. But when you detach them and put them on again, you need to play the content manually from the phone or need to use the middle button from the remote. While consuming media and gameplay didn’t notice any latency as such.

Battery and Charging:

The Bullets Wireless Z2 packs a 220mAh battery inside and comes with improved fast charging support. As per the company claim, this neckband can provide up to 30 hours of playtime at 50% of volume. I’m using this Z2 over the past two days and I fully charged it on the very first day before started using. I didn’t use it heavily, though spend around seven hours, including media and calls keeping the volume at 70%. Still, it has 40% battery left. There is a Type-C port to refill the battery.

The fast charging has improved a lot on this. Against just 10 minutes of charging, there will be enough power to run for up to 20 hours long.

The conclusion is the Bullets Wireless Z2 can provide two days of normal usage time easily. All thanks to the Magnetic Control. It helps the neckband to save the battery while not in use. In case the battery is down and you need it urgently, fast charging is there for you.

Verdict:

There are lots of wireless neckbands available under INR 2,000. But if we filter out with premiumness, this OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 will be there in the result for sure. At just INR 1,999 it offers super-long battery life along with fast charging, great audio output, premium build, fast pairing, magnetic control, and a lot more.

The all new OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 is available via the OnePlus official website along with Amazon India and other popular e-commerce platforms at INR 1,999 only. There are two colour options – Magico Black and Beam Blue.
