Darwin Nunez price tag drops down to €80 million as top clubs circle

Darwin Nunez is on the transfer market in the summer transfer window. Benfica are willing to sell their star forward considering his price tag is met. The previous fee that the Portuguese club were demanding for the player was in the region of over €100 million.

But now, that has been reduced to around €80 million. He has scored five goals in nine Champions League games this season, and netted in their most recent game against Liverpool as well. They are set to travel to Anfield for the return leg, trailing 3-1 on aggregate.

Darwin Nunez attracting interest from top European clubs

Manchester United have discussed him as a potential signing internally, with Erik Ten Hag asking for control over potential signings once he takes over the managerial position.

West Ham United and Arsenal were interested in the forward in the January transfer window. However, the club decided that he was not for sale during the middle of the season. And now, they seem to have changed their mind over the future of the player.

The 22-year-old has spent two years with Benfica, and has three years remaining on his current deal with Benfica. The Uruguayan has earned 8 caps for the national team, and has scored two goals since making his debut in 2019.

Darwin Nunez is a versatile forward, and has the ability to play across the front-line. He mainly operates as a centre-forward, and can be deployed as a winger as well. As a result, he can add a new dimension to the frontline of any Premier League team that he joins in the summer.
