Barcelona 1-0 Sevilla: Xavi’s men move into second place in the table with wonder goal from Pedri

Barcelona have leapfrogged Sevilla and are now second in La Liga following their 1-0 win at Camp Nou. Pedri scored the only goal of the game with his only shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.

The Blaugrana have a game in hand on league leaders Real Madrid, and could reduce the point gap to 9 if they can win the extra match. After a disastrous start to the season, it looks like Barcelona will definitely be competing in the Champions League next season.

Barcelona win vital game against Sevilla thanks to wonder goal from Pedri

Ousmane Dembele provided the assist to the Golden Boy as he converted a remarkable effort to earn all three points. The Frenchman now has 10 assists in the league, and was given a great reception as he walked off the pitch in the final minutes.

But despite his great performances in recent weeks, it seems like he will be leaving as a free agent in the summer since he isn’t content with the financial offer that the club has offered him.

Xavi has been able to restore Barcelona to what they once were, and could mount a late title challenge if they are able to build on their five-match winning streak in La Liga. Moreover, they could also win the Europa League, having progressed to the quarter finals.

Sevilla, on the other hand, seem to be out of the title race, having been unable to put together a run of wins to compete with Real Madrid. They will, however, make it to the Champions League if they can win a points battle with Real Betis.
