Apple is planning to release a new MacBook Air model later this year. The next MacBook Air is expected to have an overhauled design with reduced bezels and improved internals. While reports about the machine’s release date have been conflicting, a fresh source says that the new MacBook Air will be released in the second half of 2022. According to a fresh claim from DigiTimes, Apple will release a new MacBook Air in the second half of 2022. The new study follows Mark Gurman’s timeline, which he provided earlier this month. The following is taken from the report:

Apple’s MacBook series are high-end consumer devices, but can also be regarded as a business notebook model as they are favoured by many companies or office workers, the sources indicated, adding that hot sales of MacBook Pro released in late 2021 have lingered into the first quarter of 2022, with shipment volumes higher than expected, and new MacBook Air set for launch in the second half of the year is expected to add further sales momentum.

Apple will reportedly launch its new MacBook Air in the Second Half of 2022 With an M2 Chip and a New Design

According to display specialist Ross Young, the next MacBook Air will have a slightly larger 13.6-inch display than the present 13.3-inch model. Aside from that, the MacBook Air is expected to have an M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and a 9-core and 10-core GPU. While the number of CPU cores remains the same, performance and efficiency will be improved. The new MacBook Air will include an improved M1 chip, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, but no further information has been revealed.

The next MacBook Air is expected to have a completely new design with more colour possibilities. According to Kuo, the Macbook Air will not have a mini-LED display, which will keep the price low.
