Motorola‘s premier lineup is the Edge Series and to date, we have witnessed multiple models including the Edge 30 Pro or Edge Plus 2022. This phone is likely to be outdated soon as there is another device codenamed ‘Frontier’, which is likely to be marketed as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra globally and X30 Pro in China.
Motorola’s roadmap includes at least three more devices as per leaked information. The Edge 30 Ultra will pack a 200MP primary sensor, mostly the Samsung ISOCELL HP1. This could be the highest resolution smartphone camera at launch and it will also arrive with OIS.
In addition to this, there will be a 50MP ultrawide angle lens and a 12MP+12MP telephoto lens setup. On the front, it will pack a 60MP selfie shooter.
That is all the rumors state, for now, the device is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1+ chip, TSMC’s version of Qualcomm’s best chip. The device will be paired with 8GB/12GB RAM options and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage options.
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will have a 6.67″ P-OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 4,500mAh battery, and 125W charging support. This information was teased by a top executive at Motorola.
There is also the Motorola Edge 30 codenamed ‘Dubai’, it is powered by the Snapdragon 778G+ chip and will feature a 144Hz display. The display measures 6.55″ with P-OLED FHD+.
In the optics department, there is a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor on the rear. On the front, it packs a 32MP selfie camera. The battery of the device comes with a 4,020mAh capacity but we are not sure about its charging capabilities as of yet.
A Dubai+ model is likely to be revealed later on and this one will have a brand new MediaTek Dimensity chip, the MT6879, which is yet to be announced. This chip will pack two Cortex-A78 cored (2.6GHz) and six A55 (2.0GHz), plus a yet-to-be-seen Mali-G79.
The phone is likely to support a stylus similar to the Edge 30 Pro and it will have a 5,000mAh battery. The leaks have not specified anything about the display of the device or its charging speed as of yet.
A fourth model, the Motorola Edge 30 Lite, codenamed ‘Miami’ will be the smallest device with a 6.28″ P-OLED FHD+ display and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a 4,020mAh battery and will be super slim measuring under 7mm.
The Lite version will be powered by the Snapdragon 695 chip paired with 6GB/8GB RAM options and 128GB/256GB storage options. In the camera department, there will be a 64MP+13MP dual setup on the rear and a single 13MP selfie shooter.
Motorola is now the third-largest manufacturer in the USA after LG pulled out of the market. The brand has witnessed a stark increase in its presence across Europe and South America. We can expect to see the new Edge models in those markets. The versions of these will also likely appear in China as well, though the specs may vary a bit.
