Cody Gakpo a transfer target for 4 European giants

PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo is attracting interest from some of the top clubs in Europe for a transfer in the summer. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool are some of the names linked with the youngster for an eventual move.

Despite being rumoured to leave the club in the January transfer window, he signed an extension with PSV for another year until 2026. But despite that, the club is not ruling out a departure for the player in the summer.

Cody Gakpo set for the big leagues?

The 22-year-old is having a remarkable season, with 16 goals and 14 assists in 36 games across all competitions. The transfer fee that PSV are holding out for is in the region of £42 million.

While he doesn’t have a release clause in his contract with the Dutch club, Cody Gakpo could join a big club if the asking price is matched. Formal negotiations have not started yet, but the four clubs have picked up the pace to try and sign the talented winger.

Cody Gakpo came through the PSV Eindhoven academy, and has featured for them 125 times in total. He made his debut for the Dutch national team last summer in the Euros, and has earned four caps so far.

The youngster is valued at €25 million, and with several years remaining on his contract, the Eredivisie club would have the upper hand in the negotiations as of now.
