ISL 2021-22 End of Season Awards: Everything you need to know about the award winners

The 2021-22 season of the ISL is now in the books, with the final played out to a conclusion. Let’s take a look at all the club and individual winners named at the end of the season. 

ISL League Winner’s Shield – Jamshedpur FC 

The Men of Steel won the league in the final game of the season, overcoming ATK Mohun Bagan to lift the Shield. They had a remarkable season right from the beginning and did immensely well to retain their position at the top of the league until the end. 

Jamshedpur FC have also qualified for the 2023 edition of the AFC Champions League, as they have finished at the top of the table.

ISL Cup – Hyderabad FC 

Despite missing out on the league title, Hyderabad FC won the ISL Cup in dramatic fashion. After defeating ATK Mohun Bagan in the semi-final, the Nizams had to complete a comeback in the final against Kerala Blasters to lift the trophy. 

Laxmikant Kattimani was the hero of the final, redeeming himself in the penalty shootout after making a big error which led to a goal. 

ISL Golden Ball Winner – Greg Stewart 

The Jamshedpur FC forward scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in the league campaign. He was one of the key players in Owen Coyle’s squad and has been rightfully named as the player of the season.

ISL Golden Boot Winner – Bart Ogbeche 

The Hyderabad FC man scored 18 goals this season in the ISL, and has established himself as one of the top scorers of all-time in the league. He was the most important part of Hyderabad FC’s title win, and has established himself in the history books of the competition now. 

ISL Golden Glove Winner – Prabhsukhan Gill 

Gill was named the Golden Glove winner following some remarkable performances throughout the season. His team was ultimately overcome in the final of the competition, but his efforts to their campaign have been recognised and awarded by the league. 

ISL Emerging Player of the Season – Naorem Roshan Singh 

The Bengaluru FC full-back played 17 games and provided seven assists, the most by an Indian and the third highest in the season. The youngster is now a mainstay in the starting line-up, and has also earned a national team call-up.
