Jonathan David linked with big transfer in June 2022

Lille striker Jonathan David will be one to watch for the summer transfer window. The Canada international is set to leave the club, and the transfer is now being put into motion, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The top 10 clubs in Europe are keeping track of the player, and are planning to swoop in for him at the end of the season. But, his next destination is undecided as of yet.

Jonathan David to leave Lille in the summer for a top club

Although Lille have proved that they can outlast PSG at the top of the league table, they aren’t as dominant in European competitions. As a result, it will be more appealing for Jonathan David to join a club that can realistically challenge for the Champions League every season.

So, a move to a rebuilding club such as Arsenal or Manchester United might help him become the star of the project. On the other hand, he could also join established European giants to further his career as well.

This season, he has scored 17 goals across 37 appearances in all competitions, with three of them in the Champions League. The striker has also earned 27 national team caps for Canada, scoring 20 goals.

David has been with the club since 2020, and has a contract until 2025. So, Lille can ask for a high transfer fee for their striker since they are not under compulsion to sell the player in the summer.
