Finally today, AMD launched their highly anticipated 8-core CPU that brings its new revolutionary 3D V-cache stacking technology. As promised, AMD claims that this CPU will give 15% better gaming performance compared to its own Ryzen 9 5900X at 1080p.

“Whether you’re an early adopter seeking the ultimate in gaming performance with the first Ryzen processor featuring AMD 3D V-Cache technology or a new gamer building your first rig, you can find a best-in-class experience with AMD,” said Saeid Moshkelani, senior vice president and general manager, Client business unit, AMD. “With today’s announcement, AMD is offering users the power of choice by bringing leadership gaming performance to all levels of system builds.”

Already given a demo about this Ryzen 7 5800X3D at CES 2022, this processor with same 8 cores and 16 threads but comes with 64 MB of Stacked cache per CCD (96 MB L3 per CCD). It has the same 105W TDP, has support on both AMD 400 and 500 series motherboards.

The significant performance benefits of additional cache in enterprise and gaming workloads are what makes this AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D special. This CPU launches at the same $449 price tag that the original 5800X launched a year ago but now costs only $349, so one has to pay $100 to get 15% better performance than too at 1080p.

AMD even compared this CPU with Intel flagship Core i9 12900K in gaming and showed at 1080p beating the Intel CPU, making this AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D the world’s best gaming processor. If this is the case by upgrading the Ryzen 7 5800X, we could imagine how Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 9 5950X would have behaved if they had been upgraded as well.

The worst part is due to the chip constraints the prototype Ryzen 9 5900X3D which AMD showed us at Computex is no longer an option for enthusiasts to go for. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor will be available on shelves from April 20th globally, we will bring the review of this CPU for sure so that you can make a whether you should go for it or not.
