Top 5 clubs with the highest purchase value in 2022

Money has become very important in football in recent years, with billionaires investing in the sport more regularly. In this article, we will be taking a look at the top five clubs in the world in terms of purchase value.

Top 5 clubs with highest purchase value

5. Liverpool (€605m)

Owing to their recent success under Jurgen Klopp, which includes a Champions League title, Club World Cup, Super Cup, Premier League, and Carabao Cup trophy, the value of the Reds has undergone an increase. They are now ahead of some of the elite clubs in the world in terms of value.

4. Chelsea (€643m)

The Blues are one of the clubs that had a big increase in value after an investor put their money in the club. No English club has been more successful since Roman Abramovich took over the West London outfit. And 19 years later, the Russian is set to leave his beloved club, after elevating them to unprecedented heights. Despite the purchase value at €643 million right now, Abramovich has set a price tag over three times that amount.

3. Manchester United (€762m)

Manchester United is one of the most popular football clubs in the world. They have not been able to get their hands on a trophy in the last five years. But that hasn’t restricted their financial dominance in the sport. Despite their lack of silverware, they are the most successful English club in terms of Premier League titles.

2. Paris Saint-Germain (€825m)

Following Qatar Investment Authority’s takeover of the capital club, PSG has become one of the biggest clubs in the world. They have some of the best players available in their squad, with Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Keylor Navas, and Achraf Hakimi all playing in the same team.

However, despite their financial strength, they have been unable to claim the Champions League trophy.

1. Manchester City (€986m)

City Football Group took over the club in 2008, and since then, they have become one of the most financially strong clubs in the world. The Sky Blues are now the strongest team in England, despite failing to claim the Champions League. Their purchase value is just under a billion Euros, with an elite squad and manager at the club.
