Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur climbed ahead of Arsenal icon Thierry Henry in the all-time Premier League goalscorers list on Monday, but despite his tally, he is still one goal behind Chelsea legend Frank Lampard and does not make the top-five list.

The top five all-time highest goal scorers in Premier League history are listed below:

Alan Shearer:  260 goals

With 260 goals in 441 games during his career, Alan Shearer is perhaps the best striker in Premier League and England history, winning three Golden Boot trophies. The England veteran laments the fact that he only managed to win one league title, preferring instead to stay at Newcastle United, where he has attained a God-like reputation.

Wayne Rooney: 208 goals

Wayne Rooney, the all-time leading striker for both England and Manchester United, may not get the credit he deserves. During his career at Manchester United, the former striker earned countless awards, but shockingly, never a single Golden Boot.

Andrew Cole: 187 goals

Andy Cole, another England striker, and Manchester United legend was a prolific goal scorer who was instrumental in the club’s success in the 1990s. Cole won one Golden Boot award during his career, having played for several clubs after leaving United, including United’s rivals, Manchester City.

Sergio Aguero: 184 goals

Sergio Aguero is Manchester City’s all-time leading goalscorer, having scored 184 goals in only 275 games. He is also the club’s greatest ever player. Despite his achievements, he only received one Golden Boot award.

Frank Lampard: 177 goals

Frank Lampard is Chelsea’s all-time leading goalscorer, and his inclusion in this list despite his position as a midfielder demonstrates how good a player he was during his career. It was practically impossible for him to win the Golden Boot as a midfielder, but he did manage to earn Player of the Season in 2004/05.
