At its Peek Performance presentation, Apple announced the Mac Studio and Studio Display. The 27-inch iMac was discontinued after the announcement. One of the final machines with an Intel processor was the 27-inch iMac. We can see how the corporation is steadily moving away from Intel chips and toward its proprietary technology. Scroll down to learn more about the topic.

At its Peek Performance presentation, Apple unveiled the Mac Studio and the Studio Display. The Mac Studio is equipped with Apple’s most powerful M1 Ultra CPU, and early benchmarks have revealed that the system has massive processing capability. The 27-inch iMac, which sits next to the 24-inch M1 iMac, is one of the last models using an Intel processor.

Users may now purchase the 27-inch Studio Display and connect it to any Mac with ease. The Studio Display also includes a 12MP webcam with Center Stage functionality. The business felt compelled to withdraw the 27-inch iMac as a result. Apple’s 24-inch M1 iMac is the company’s only all-in-one desktop computer at the moment.

However, there is a significant price difference between the $1,299 24-inch iMac and an M1 Mac mini or Mac Studio with the Studio Display. The former costs $2,298 while the latter costs $3,598. There are reports that Apple may release a larger iMac powered by Apple Silicon, but when that will happen is still unknown.

Apple may release the iMac Pro shortly, although no specific release dates have been announced at this moment. Apple’s top-of-the-line processor will be included in the iMac Pro, as well as a possible new design comparable to the Pro Display XDR. Stay tuned for more information.
