How will Deepak Chahar’s absence affect CSK?

IPL 2022 is all set to get started from the last week of March but CSK’s one of the major players Deepak Chahar has suffered from a quadriceps injury during the third match against West Indies in Kolkata.

As per a report in news agency PTI, Chahar is likely to be out for eight weeks. “Chahar is out for at least eight weeks, which means he will miss half of IPL 2022,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying in this news report.

Chahar was purchased by the franchise for a whopping ₹14 crore, making the 29-year-old the second most expensive buy in this year’s IPL mega auction.

Jason Roy too announced on his social media that he won’t be taking part in IPL 2022 and has gone on an indefinite break and spend time with his family. He was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 2 crore and the franchise is yet to find his replacement.

How Deepak’s absence will affect the franchise?

His absence affect the Yellow Army’s plan as they bought him for a huge sum of Rs 14 crore. Chahar played a key role in the team’s success last year and CSK will hugely miss his performance. Chahar’s batting skills have also gone up in the past few months and his absence will be a huge loss to CSK. Overseas pacers Adam Milne, Chris Jordan, Dwayne Bravo and Dwaine Pretorius will be considered as his replacement.
